Making of My Portfolio
Dec 13, 2024

As I progress in my academic/professional career, I’ve gone through multiple different portfolios. The first couple I created were simple React frontends with different plug-ins to handle emails and other information. However, these pages were often hard to keep consistent with each other and took a lot of time to update every time I wanted to add a new project. From there, I'm moved to using Docusaurus which provides templates for creating new blog posts and project pages. However, I still felt like my creative control was limited. Lastly, I moved to Framer, a new CMS that allows users to manage content and incorporate custom code overrides. So far, it has made managing content much easier and allows me to express my creative ideas easier.
I kept my color choices fairly simple, mostly using black and white. This keeps my portfolio looking professional while highlighting my work better. Additionally, the rounded corners and animations I’ve added to my site help give it a sleek tech look, similar to Apple. As far as navigation goes, I provide a clear navigation bar with clearly divided sections on each page that allow the user to easily find the information they need. I did my best to attribute every image to their author, and to add alternative text to every image I added to the site.
Overall, I’m happy with how my portfolio turned out. I plan on adding more to my project pages as some of the project's progress, and I want to add more design elements as I see fit. As for now, I think it clearly displays the information I want to display while remaining sleek and professional.
