interview

The two UI Interview Prep videos I watched were https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtN3yHIWuRY & https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j07li1MUIa4. After watching both videos, there were a couple things that stuck out to me and some things that I could relate to through my previous interviewing experience. Firstly, one of the videos talked about a website called "Sharpen.design" which gives users design challenges that they can complete. As a computer science major, this reminded me a lot of LeetCode and how it was a tool for potential software engineers to practice their skills before an interview. Additionally, one of the videos talked about a design process called the "double-diamond". This is something I wasn't previously familiar with, but it sounds similar to the Agile process for software engineering and it's something I plan to look into further. Furthermore, in one of the videos, the creator mentioned that it's important to be yourself and connect with the interviewers during the process. I think this is something I want to work on in the future as I often feel like I have to be the perfect individual or act a certain which just ends up stressing me out and isn't authentic to who I am. In one of my recent interviews, I was able to connect with the interviewer over my passion for skateboarding and that made me want to work at the company a lot more than if I just tried to be as perfect and robotic as possible.
