Student Web Designer

During my 16-month internship with the Digital Experience Group (DXG) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, I worked at the intersection of web development, UX design, and digital content management. I contributed to both ongoing web projects and a custom polling app for the university, collaborating closely with the ITS team to create tools that improved user experience and accessibility. My work combined front-end development, design mockups, and hands-on training for staff.

Web Development & Design: Used Drupal 10 CMS to recreate and maintain web pages with a focus on accessibility and usability. Created templates using Twig and implemented custom layouts with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Altered graphics using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to meet web requirements.
Polling App Project: Designed mockups in Figma and developed the frontend using the UNL DCF Framework and Angular JavaScript. Collaborated with ITS team members in design and development meetings, then handed off frontend and design assets so they could connect the app to the backend.
Team Collaboration: Participated in stand-ups, tracked progress, and provided CMS training to staff, ensuring smooth adoption of web tools and templates.
